About Me

Howdy! Greetings! Welcome to bgseven.com, the website with no slogan… oh wait, that’s a slogan! – my humble corner of the Internet.

I’m Jack, an 18-year-old Upper VIth Form student at Denstone College in Staffordshire, and I also run a number of web sites and projects across a variety of genres, as well as participate in a whole variety of activities!

Throughout my humble home you can find out what I’m up to in daily life and more about what I do – pull up a seat, grab a slice of pizza and get surfing! My musings may well be infrequent, but they will hopefully at least slightly interesting you and give you an insight into a few snippets of my life – and I assume you are interested in my life, or surely you would have turned off by now?

So what are my interests? Well, they’re amazingly diverse (Something that I am rather proud of!), ranging from Rock Climbing and Watersports to Fundraising and Volunteering, and I am also a Transport Enthusiast, enjoy a wide range of music and much more! Most of the time you’ll find me at a computer of some sort though, doing something that probably isn’t that important in the Grand Scheme of Things, but that will hopefully benefit someone somewhere!

People often ask me what it is I want to do in life, but if I am honest I don’t completely know yet. I’ve got a kind of ‘to-do’ list that I’d like to try and complete, but they are so diverse that I recognise it will probably be near impossible to meet all of them! I’m just the sort of guy that likes to take things one step at a time – right now it’s my A levels, and once they’re out of the way it’ll (hopefully!) be University, and I’ve applied to Lancaster and Reading to take English language – now I just need the grades!

Oh, and if you want to get in touch, just shoot us an email at jack@bgseven.com and I’ll get in touch! But don’t send too many, some of the kittehs are unwell at the moment… :(

About this website
This website is being run on the WordPress platform – probably the most powerful and easy-to-use blogging platform on the web. It’s also completely, 100% free and open source, so if you want to create your own blog using this software then you are more than welcome to! I use the “self-hosted” option on my own servers, but if that’s not for you then there’s also a “hosted” option available with all of the same features and customisability as this – and it’s still free!

I first set up my website at the tail-end of 2010, when I decided to increase my own, personal web presence to match that of my many websites. After using WordPress quite a bit it seemed the obvious platform to go with, and I’ve had no regrets with it at all. It’s hosted on my server cluster that is provided by Linode, which, again, is excellent service and has served me really well! You probably won’t see many changes in terms of design as I simply haven’t got the time (Or motivation!) to change it away from something that I am happy with, though you may see the odd, subtle change from time to time.
